Walter Liszewski

	Mr. Walter Liszewski, of rural Nashville, departed this life at his residence on Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at 9:30 p.m. after an extended illness.  He was 68 years old.
	Mr. Liszewski was born in Bolo Township in Washington County on June 1, 1933, the son of Joseph and Helen (Filipiak) Liszewski.  he was united in marriage to Velma Knapp at Nashville on March 30, 1973 and she survives his passing.
	Walter was a retired farmer and also was employed by F. S. Metals of Pinckneyville for over 29 years until his retirement.  He wa a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at Posen.
	Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Velma of Nashville; nine children, Tom (Darlene) Liszewski of Nashville, Betty Liszewski of Okawville, Roger (Jenny) Petot of Poquoson, Va., Kathy (Terry) Swyear of New Athens, Debra (Gary) Meinhardt of Redding, Calif., Robert (Bobbie) Petot of Fenton, Mo., Linda Petot of Atlanta, Ga., Roland Petot of St. Louis, Mo. and Clara (Jon) LaPlante of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; a brother, Joseph (Mary Ann) Liszewski of Madison; a sister, JoAnne (Dick) Vogt of Cincinnati, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces; nephews; other relations and friends.
	 He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Donald Liszewski and a brother, Paul Liszewski.
	Mass of the christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at Posen on Saturday, July 28 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Al Jerome officiating.  Interment was in the church cemetery.
	Friends called at the Campagna Funeral Home of Nashville Friday from 3 until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 7:30 to 9 a.m.
	 The Rosary was said at the Campagna Funeral Home Friday at 7 p.m.
	Should friends desire, Mass offering s or memorial contributions to the good Samaritan Hospice or the American Cancer Society may be made.
